Project Overview
Tucked into the rear of the garden, beside a majestic Dawn Redwood tree and a trickling koi pond, the Writer’s Studio is conceived as a short distance retreat for reflection and creation. Clad in warm black locust siding with a matching deck that extends into the leftover nooks and crannies of the space inside the fenceline, the structure feels both grounded and light. Its roof, finished in a patina-like copper tone, recalls the timeless weathering of metal while providing a subtle contrast to the natural wood. Large windows and carefully framed views connect the intimate interior with the surrounding garden, creating a serene workspace that blurs the boundary between indoors and out.
