THE BROTHERS
Behind our name, there really are four brothers: Alfred, Ben, Kent and Leroy Johnson. Growing up, each brother served as a woodworking apprentice, beginning with sweep-up duty, then stacking wood, inspecting parts, machining rough lumber, and assembling cabinetry, finally working their way up to product design. As adults, they found themselves fitting remodeling projects into the evenings and weekends of their 9 to 5 lives. It didn't take long for their reputation for quality craftsmanship and attentive customer service to turn into a backlog of work and a steady stream of referrals and in 2006, Four Brothers Design + Build was launched.
OUR PEOPLE
When it came to building a team, the brothers were on the same page: you don't train people to care; you hire people who care. From the team leaders to the architects to the crews, they wanted every single person to be passionate about their work, committed to a high level of personal service, and as attentive to their client's needs as they are to the details of a project.

Team Leader & Architect
Kate has always enjoyed working with her hands – and learning by doing. She earned a degree in interior design and moved to Dallas to work for Habitat for Humanity, first as an AmeriCorps Service member and then as a full-time staff member in the construction department. She returned to school to pursue a Master of Architecture degree at the University of Maryland. Although she worked as an intern at Four Brothers, Kate took a job with a firm that focused on mixed-use residential and urban planning projects following graduation. She learned a great deal but is happy to back with us, taking on projects at a scale she loves. Kate’s at her best working closely with residential clients to create functional, buildable designs.

OUR PRINCIPLES
We are working in your home — and we understand how disruptive a remodeling project can be. Whatever roles our team members serve in your project, each of us is guided by the following principles:
-
Respect – You’ll find our team polite to a fault and considerate of your daily routine. We’ll do our best to contain our mess by cleaning the work area at the end of each day.
-
Accountability – Start times, deadlines and schedules are commitments you can count on. Our phones are always on so you can reach us whenever you need us.
-
Design Integrity – Every project gets our full attention regardless of size. We invest the time to get it right. If it’s not our best product, it won’t go out the door.
-
Quality Craftsmanship – We are artisans who “build for life.” We do not cut corners in the interest of expediency, cost savings – or any other reason.
