Bathroom Renovation in Great Falls, VA
Our clients came to us with a clear vision for their home. They love open concept designs, and were hoping that we could modernize and open their kitchen and main bath, while touching some other smaller spaces, and adding some show-stopping flair throughout. The fireplace in the great room was an obvious candidate for eye-catching rehabilitation, and we were able to design a number of elements in the main bath to stand out, using strong lines created by bold dark slat walls to highlight the soaking tub, while creating partitions for the shower and toilet areas.
Design + Layout
With a spacious area to work with off the main bedroom, we married design and practical elements to create a visually appealing and useful space. The two slat walls, stained to match the cabinetry, segment the bathroom in thirds, while leaving room at the far end for the two floating vanities flanking the tub. On one side, we built a floor to ceiling curbless shower, with the other side concealing the toilet and a custom painted oak linen cabinet with a built-in tissue holder.
Style + Finishes
Continuing the modern theme softened with natural materials, in the main bath we used stained white oak throughout. Mosaic tile on the floor carries on into the shower, and complements the geometric pattern on the wall behind the tub. We used a proprietary finish from Elmwood cabinetry on the vanities, underneath thick marble countertops. Bronze mirrors and pendant light over the tub add more natural finishes to the space.
