Elizabeth Saint Rain

Kitchen Designer

Liz creates kitchens that are both beautiful and functional. She really gets to know a client – how they live and work in the space – before she starts to design. Are they weekend entertainers? Avid bakers?A couple that cooks together? Liz will develop plans to meet a client’s individual needs. And Liz is an expert at maximizing storage and counter space. Her creative solutions tuck storage in unimagined places so counters are less cluttered. Liz also knows cabinetry in-side-out. She ensures our client gets the best value for their budget when choosing cabinets, finishes and accessories.

Grant Saller, AIA

Team Leader & Architect

Grant grew up in Chicago watching his father build his childhood home. In high school, a budding interest in architecture eclipsed the allure of his role on a championship hockey team. Grant attended Judson University and scored the opportunity to work on a Chicago landmark with a historic preservationist. He went on to earn a Masters degree at Notre Dame. Grant moved to DC in 2010 during “snowmageddon.” Prior to joining the Four Brothers team, he built a portfolio of diverse work, from ecclesiastic architecture to mixed-use commercial projects. Grant’s background in design and construction has made him an ideal fit for our collaborative environment. Whether he’s on the job site or conferring with the design team, Grant keeps it real: delivering functional, buildable projects.

Iva Saller, AIA

Architect

Iva comes from a family ancestrally entrenched in the construction industry. She expected to branch out after her undergraduate degrees in Art History, Italian Language and Management, however, a special interest in Preservation drew her back into the fold to follow her mother’s footsteps into Architecture; thus she began her career working at a high-end residential practice on Long Island's Gold Coast.  Upon completion of her Master of Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame, she worked for several years in Washington DC for a large firm responsible for a diverse portfolio from high-end residential to civic performance halls. Iva is an interdisciplinary designer who works with you collaboratively to provide an integrated and cohesive approach to architecture and interior design.

Michael Schmieder

Project Manager

Hockey player turned craftsman, Michael played professional hockey for 11 years in his native Austria. He also earned a degree in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering and worked for a global steel manufacturer. When his hockey career ended, Michael moved to the US to be with his wife and decided carpentry would be his new vocation. He joined Four Brothers after seven years with a custom home builder. Michael is a perfectionist in everything he does: cuts need to be absolutely square, cabinetry and counters perfectly level and the job site in pristine condition. As he will tell you, Michael approaches every project as if he is working on his own home.

Thomas Schutz

Project Manager

Working with his hands comes naturally to Tom. Although he earned an associate degree in Media Studies, Tom sought employment at a local lumberyard. He liked the physical nature of the work and, through his daily interactions, became interested in carpentry. Tom moved to a position with a millwork company where he installed cabinets, trim, paneling and countertops. Along the way, he also gained experience in historic renovation, framing, form building and deck work. Tom brings a broad skillset to the Four Brothers crew. He is especially adept at trim and cabinetry work.
