Full Home Remodel in Great Falls, Virginia

Project Overview

Our clients approached us with a clear goal for their renovation: to create an open-concept layout that would refresh the kitchen and main bathroom, enhance a few smaller areas, and introduce striking design features throughout the home. The fireplace in the great room quickly stood out as a perfect opportunity for a dramatic transformation. In the kitchen, standout features like the oversized islands and wood-paneled range enclosure brought bold visual impact.

Design and Layout

Throughout the home, we established a cohesive design language. Some elements, such as the wood-wrapped columns in the kitchen, were inspired by structural needs—opening up the floor plan required support pillars to carry the load from the floor above. Rather than disguise them, we highlighted the pillars with light-stained oak, a detail that echoed into the laundry room design where marble countertops meet oak accents and deep-toned cabinetry. The stone-clad, wood-burning fireplace continues the interplay of dark and light tones, while the main bathroom mirrors the theme with bold dark wood slats and abundant natural light.

Style and Finish

A palette of white and gray marble, black detailing, and oak trim defines the aesthetic. In the kitchen, polished chrome fixtures lend a fresh brightness, balanced by the warmth of rift-cut oak accents. The fireplace, finished in marble tile with a custom black granite surround and hearth extension, grounds the soaring ceilings of the great room and ties seamlessly into the overall style of the home.
